LUMBAR CANAL STENOSIS
Lumbar canal stenosis is the condition where the nerves in the lower back known as lumbar area get compressed leading the reduced flow of blood to the legs. This causes pain in lower back, hips and legs. Along with the pain, the patient also experiences numbness and weakness in the legs. Lumbar canal stenosis can happen to older as well younger population. The stenosis of the lumbar canal happens over the years and doesn't happen suddenly. The discs become less spongy with aging, resulting in loss of disk height, and may cause bulging of the hardened disk into the spinal canal.
